Buckhead Donegal Stout

Good-looking black beer. Mild ale-y smelling, with just a twinge of hop aroma. Choco-lactose on top of dark roast flavor. Dry, a little watery tasting (though not watery feeling.) Mildly hopped. Fairly quick coffee finish. An off note in the backend disturbed an otherwise very good palate. Easy drinking.

Overall a good Brewpub stout. No real aroma - excellent thick dark black pour with a heavy, creamy head with a lot of lacing. Detect a little bit of hoppiness in there. Smoky, roasted flavor starts off strong but fades and sours near the end - bit of an aftertaste - thus the low marks on palate. Overall a good choice for #400 for me.
