Clear amber, frothy beige head, earthy hop aroma, dry malt flavor with a mild hop character, slight lactic twang, lots of bitterness in the finish, nothing like last years version in Cumming, average at best

harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA Nov 2, 2003 A very typical IPA, nice and hoppy with a great floral aroma, flavor is acidic and hoppy with some nice bitterness coming through in the finish. Ohmybock (25), Georgia, USA Jan 3, 2003 Aroma reminded me of sticking my head in the hop refrigerator of a homebrew supply store...Fantastic! Bitterness was good, but not too extreme. Good hop flavor. Had a large, malty body to go along with the hops. I prefer it this way rather than some IPA’s that have over-the-top bitterness paired with a dry body. This is my kind of IPA. Great job. (Make sure you ask for an UN-frozen glass.) PorterPounder (3131), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Nov 19, 2002 Best of the Buckheads so far. Aroma - thought I was in a South Florida grapefruit warehouse - nice and citrusy to say the least. Flavor was the same - and lasted throughout. Hoppiness was not overwhelming though in that it did not leave a bad aftertaste. Nice copper color appearance as well. Buckhead has really improved itself in the last year or so I must say. TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Jul 23, 2002 The hop bitterness hits you right between the eyes from the first sip to the last. Nice amber color. Hopheads will love this one. Admiral (524), Schnecksville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2002 Citrus/pine. Not as tooth-peeling as it could be, which is good; I like hop flavor, but excess bitterness can sometimes be irritating. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jun 28, 2002 Aroma is grapefruit and caramel. Medium copper color with laced head. Very citrusy in flavor, with butter/caramel finish. A very warm brew.
