clear red-amber, whispy head and nice lace, sweet malt aroma, with just a touch of hops, sweet malt flavor with good balancing hops that start mild and then come on strong, good bitter finish

savitska (163), Smyrna, Georgia, USA Sep 20, 2004 A beautifully copper ale that is one of the finest session beers I’ve ever had. I could have drunk endless pints of this stuff. Mild, flower aroma that is reflected in the taste. An unobtrusive hop and a pleasing malt balance. This is a gorgeous beer. Very similar to Atlanta’s Dogwood Pale Ale. Loved it! Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Sep 16, 2004 Rich amber color with not much head to speak of. Light caramel aroma. Burnt molasses taste with a mellow roastiness. rajendra82 (698), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jun 8, 2004 Deep red color with a medium thick head. Sweet caramel malt aroma, and the taste to match it. Very light hoppiness. Delicate and slightly spicy, and the best of the year around offerings from Buckhead Brewery that I’ve tasted yet. Goes great with their prime rib. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Mar 9, 2003 Dark leatherized ruby. A nice head fades slowly but completely. Just looking at it, I probably would have guessed a brown. The aroma and flavor wouldn't have dissuaded me either. Warm malts, a slight hop bite and a tad tart. The flavor is come cocoa, caramel, slightly metallic hops. Good beer, but the aftertaste drives down the overall quality. PorterPounder (3132), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Nov 5, 2002 Expected a Killian’s clone, but was pleasantly surprised. Lot going on in this brew - nice copper color - fruity undertones, malty finish. Aurelius (2643), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Sep 6, 2002 This was the dregs of the vat, so I’ll need to re-rate someday. Strong bittering, mild caramel. Wood in the finish, and the dregs bittering threatened to overpower anything else towards the bottom of the glass. I’ve liked their other amber beers better. TheBeerCollector (548), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Aug 27, 2002 Beautiful dark amber color with a lasting head. Very well balaced flavor. One of my favorite beers.
