A chewy honeyed cereal impetus benefits from spicy hops and their firm bitterness in this rich yet drinkable Strong Lager.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam protects the clear golden.
-A citrusy aura seems to surround the hop spiciness.
-Alcoholic warmth is easily perceptible, which is not necessarily what I would like from a brew at this gravity.
-This is fruitier than the Jubiler, which is otherwise closely related.
-The healthy cereals are apparently coalescing into biscuits.

Saad provides a nice bit of buttering and flavor. Malt presence is not strong. Slightly unballanced with alcholic finish. ogreface (333), Budapest, Hungary

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Poured from bottle. Rich amber color with a very minimal head. Flowery hops enter the nose with a slight trace of the strong amount of alcohol. Sweet hoppiness up front with an alcoholic finish. This is okay for a strong lager, but I think I’ll stick with the regular Budweiser Budvar. Allen (1425), Switzerland
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Nov 30, 2007 Bottled 33cl. It pours a golden beer with a small whitish head. Poor nose, nothing to write about. Hints of apples. Some figs and marshmallows in the taste. Medicinal, metallic and cloying. Malty with hints of hay, pineapple and lemon. The alcohol delivers a too big punch. Too much sugar added for my liking... Unbalanced. Full bodied. The finish is sweet and grassy with hints of honey and pineapple. reakt (937), Greater London, England

Notes simply say butterscotch, malt and hops. Although my notes are vague I do remember quite liking it. beerification (8), Scotland does not count | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 10, 2007 Bottle. I’m really not sure about this one. It had little to no immediate taste, which gave way to a slightly course aftertaste. I don’t know if it’s the water they use - I seem to remember something about springs 300m deep, because there did seem to be quite a metallic aftertaste. Overall not horrible but not great either. Quite a high aroma volume, but an awful lot what’s there is skunk. Some herbal hops, underlying cereal graininess. Flavor is a fairly pleasant white bread malt, menthol/herbal hops, skunk. Fairly aggresive carbonation. Not great, but not awful either.
