If this is what ImBev brings to the AB merger I am happy. I would definitely drink this over Budweiser any day but wouldn’t buy for myself. ucfknightscott (46), Casselberry, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Pours a copper/red with a medium white fluffy head. Aroma of hops, caramel, slightly fruity, malty, and a bit grassy. Not what you expect from Budweiser, interesting. Taste is balanced but a bit flat. Definetly taste the caramel malt and a slight fruity finish. This is definetly a shot at Boston Lager. I know all you beer geeks will cringe but... not a bad attempt from ol’ Anheuser-Busch. A valiant effort but leaves a lot to the imagination. If this is among the macros on tap, this will be my pick. Can you imagine if this beer replaced Budweiser? I know I’m dreaming but that would give me some hope for the palates of this country! Barreras (128), Diamond Bar, California, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 23, 2009 A red to copper color from tap at local Chili’s restaurant. Lots of malt flavor with no real distinct flavor. Descent for a "Budweiser" beer but nothing I would make a habit of drinking. budallpro (18), , Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2009 From a bottle pours almost clear deep amber color with a small beige head leaving some nice lacing. Aroma starts out hoppy but then fades shortly after. Flavor hoppy and mallty with hints of caramel DrnkMcDermott (1852), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Updated: Feb 24, 200912 oz. bottle. From "mix-a-six" rack at Jewel. Actually a bit of a surprise. A brown bottle with a non-screwtop crown. Definite malt smell with a nosegay of hops that spreads out when I pour. Amber body with a pale ale head instead of fizzy macro pop foam. There’s some malt in the taste. Yes, some hops that are balanced more in favor of the malt. Not a boatload of PNW hops, just a profile that can repeated from year to year and in many breweries. Mouthfeel does come across a little brittle, like a light beer, the only real ding against it. Like the kid down the street who wants to be Honkers Ale when grows up. carboloader (320), Houston, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 23, 2009 Pours copper orange clear with some carbonation bubbles. Decent soapy head. This is Budweiser? Aroma actually has some malt & hops. Apple flavors. Best Budweiser I’ve had, but flat and lacking any finish of a real ale. Still, if you find this among only macroswill, it is the better of that variety. wingman333 (244), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 20, 2009 Better than I expected but still not that great. Just once I’d like to see the big names take a risk! Nice red color with whitish head, mosty malty in flavor. Slight bitterness, a metallic-type smell, kind of foul.
