It is depressing to read the reviews of some of these beers. yes, the macrobrewers sacrifice quality for quantity, but crapping on their beers becaause it’s associated with Miller or Budweiser is pure stupidity. Cram your snobbiness where the sun don’t shine---for their first attempt at an "American" ale, this beer is not that bad.

Had this at my in-laws. First of all, a big F-U to Bud for "defining a new style of ale - the american ale." Give me a break. Second, I don’t even think this beer deserves a fair review, considering who it’s coming from. Who are they kidding? This beer has a decent sweet/malty flavor with no hops to speak of and a brutal finish. Avoid, but I’m sure you knew that.

I did not buy this. Repeat, I had it at a friends house, again, I did not buy this. Well, I guess, kudo’s to Budweiser for jumping on the Sam Adams bandwagon and working towards producing a decent major-distributed beer. Long way to go, but I am glad you’ve shed your 1980’s shell. Slight hops and floral aroma and the typical grass-wheat based, chlorinated flavoured water you find in Florida. Some places hop theirs; in Florida, they Chlorinate it...to death. Overall very clean and rather consumable, though, that is about it. Nothing to tickle the fancy other than a spify lable and a decent clean brew in the right direction.

Mostly hops on the nose, with a light soda-esque hint. Pours a lovely reddish color, looks a right proper beer with a nice off white head. The hops is up front, fading away into bready and malt notes after. Not enormously complex, but pleasant to drink and available easily and cheaply.

Tried this out of curiosity, and was very impressed for a mass-produced American. Extremely clean, clear, no flaws, good looking, targeted to mass-appeal - all the strengths of large American industrial brews, but with a good malt taste and tiny bit of "ale" yeast character. I am don’t get the "distinctive hoppy finish" but overall this is good beer. If this were at the same price as other Bud products, this would easily become my choice for drinking ’everyday’ or saving money. At just over $1 per bottle, it is just too closely priced to more distinctive choices to be something I fill my fridge with.

Pours a nice medium orange, with a nice white fluffy head with decent retention. A gigantic improvement for Bud. Comes off with some citrus, bit of caramel and toast. I also detect some alcohol. Some citrus notes and a bit of hop bitterness to let you know this beer actually has hops. Caramel sweetness doesn’t last too long. A weird alcohol and soapy aftertaste keeps this beer from being really good. Dencent body for an Amber Ale. Nothing really positive, or negative to say about the mouthfeel. Exceeded my low expectations, but the soapy aftertase just keeps this from being really good.

Draft at Anheuser Busch tasting room. Super simple, though it does look nice. Deep red with off white head, good bubble size. Nose is distinct Cascade Hops. Really, it’s not offensive (well, it’s not really what they say it is), perhaps the base of what every APA has become. I wouldn’t call this an amber as it doesn’t really have the typical caramel malt character. Eh, decent enough, though far from good.
