It is not masterfully brewed with complex flavor and depth, but it has a good balance of taste and body. I am not a fan of A-B products, but what they are trying to do is commendable with this one. Hopefully it will introduce people to the world of craft brews and open there eyes to beer made without rice. Refreshing. Good beer when you are drinking more than 6. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 30, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours an amber color with a small, fizzy off-white head. Aroma was caramel malts, yeasty, and decent floral hops. Flavor was similar. Very watery mouthfeel, with a bitter finish. Basically this beer smelled and tasted like budweiser with more hops. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Nov 30, 2008 Yay! A bland, boring amber ale. Mettalic malt aroma, at least AB didn’t forget to include that like in every other beer they make. Light amber in color with creamy off-white head. Good looking beer, tastes like nothing. Some malt a nod in the direction of hops but just basic, bland and boring. Light creamy mouthfeel with a dry lingering aftertase. Lame. Botnik (110), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 30, 2008 12oz bottle. This was a pleasant surprise. Better than any AB lagers. A bit citrusy for my taste. I expect this to show up at restaurants that normally don’t serve ales. I’d try this again, if it’s the only ale on the menu. celogan (190), Oroville, California, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Very Dissappointing, though I shoudn’t be surprised as it’s an AB product. I’d almost bet that this stuff is Michelob Amber Bock repackagded under a different label. Smells and tastes the same. Put them side by side and see if you can taste the difference
Poured with nice foam which dissapaited in a very short time. Lacinng was so-so. Aroma burned caramel
Watery mouth feel with some malt and barely noticable hops
This is drinkable, but not something to go out and get any tme soon. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 29, 2008 I have no problem with this beer other than a pretty tinny flavor and a residual sweetness that reminds of vague adjuncts. Aroma is actually hoppy - sort of grapefruity. Otherwise crisper, cleaner and more flavorful than a lager of similar ilk. I may even get it again. The price is right after all...
