It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t anything to write home about. I guess not a bad product from AB but then again I drank it straight out of the bottle so I couldn’t enjoy it out of a glass.

Clear pale copper, decent eggshell head. Sweet caramel with a bit of toast and grass. A surprisingly nice citrus flavor upfront, but it doesn’t follow through. Finish is thin with nowhere near the bitterness or malt character expected of an American Pale or Amber Ale. Way better than the regular Bud, but nothing compared to, say SNPA. Quaffable, for sure.

Bottle.Medium sized off-white head, semi-fizzy, with good retention, fair amount of lacing, transparent, orange hue, and champagne like carbonation. Aroma was sweet, malt, caramel, nutty, floral, citrus hops, and some pine notes. The flavor was sweet, nutty, malt, caramel, citrus hops, some pine, and finishes clean and semi-dry. Tingly, and somewhat of a sticky, gummy mouthfeel and medium bodied. A quaffable, nicely balanced beer by AB and hats off to them for brewing a beer that I would absolutely drink over the rest of the BMC beers. This is easy to drink, and I may be wrong with this, but I truly do not believe that the masses that drink AB beers are going to enjoy this particular beer due to the color and flavor. Come on, it’s not yellow and fizzy!!

Bottle. Pours clear amber with white head. Aroma is malt and caramel. Flavor is caramel malts with touch of hops. Decent mouthfeel. If they were tring to make a hoppy pale ale they failed but as an amber it is not to bad and is an easy drinker. Would take this over other basic bud and miller options.

Pours a clear amber color. Slim cream colored head. Basic light malt aroma, but that’s about it. Tastes a little watered down, with a hint of hops and malt. But it truly is lacking in terms of an amber ale. But for Bud? One of their better beers.

Thanks to the Rathskeller for this one. Apple malt aroma. Light Orange color with a small off white head that faded kinda quickly. Mild malt flavor throughout. Moderately light palate. Corn flavor gets stronger as you drink this.

While this brew is a step up from the poor lagers that A-B is famous for, it falls remarkably short of decent in terms of overall ale quality. I had really hoped for A-B’s success in this offering and was sorely disappointed, though I can’t imagine why, considering their track record. What the owner of a more discriminating palate realizes is that the bitter finish is not a plus, that the almost total lack of body in this brew practically removes it from being in the class of an ALE at all, and that a nice amber color does not always indicate a decently drinkable brew. The first clue should have been the quickly disappearing head and lack of the lacing that one gets with the finer ales. Lastly, the barely noticeable alcohol content, which had it been high could have somewhat saved this wretched piece, was the final coups de gras.

Still has some corny notes to it, but I was suprised that it does have some nice hoppiness. Easy to drink, sweet and slightly fruity with the hops in there. Overall its not bad, but it does taste like budweiser on hops.
