The aroma is of caramel, honey, with a hint of hops and ginger. The flavor is fairly balanced, too smooth, and very easy on the palate for an AB, but its weakest area. There is not a whole lot of flavor, but this is worlds better than anything else I have tasted from AB. See what happens when the Europeans bought out AB. justinehrlich (18), New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2009 Good, but unoriginal amber ale. Great with about any kind of food. Really smooth, without much flavor. I think most of the work went into the appearance and palate. Duhast500 (204), , Massachusetts, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Poured from the tap into a pint glass.
The appearance is a dark amber with a nice foamy white head, a little of lacing on the glass.
The smell is a bit weak, some hints of sweet malt.
The taste is a real malty flavor with some slight hop aftertaste. There is also a minor caramel feel.
This is a beer that is really good on tap. Is pretty smooth for a beer I wasn’t expecting much from since it was made by a macro brewer but it did surprise me. It was also light but not too light, and was well balanced. A beer I plan to have again in the future.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 4, 2009 Pours a long-lasting foamy white head. Deep copper color; quite attractive. Aroma of strong cascade hops, a little citrus and some sweet caramelly malt. Taste is very much like the aroma. Starts with sweet malt and fades to a crisp piney hop finish. Not much in between; not very complex and has a rather watery body. Overall a decent to good amber ale. jmulv (93), Rensselaer, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Surprisingly good. It pours a nice reddish brown with a big thick head. A touch of bitterness from the hops, but tastes more malty really. Finishes kind of... unsatisfying I guess would be the word I’m looking for. But hey, it’s not too bad. Definitely grab a 6’er if you’re looking for a little taste on the cheap. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Pours a clear amber gold with thick white head, minimal lacing. I will just leave it as this is a drinkable, readily available brew that has enough taste to be relevent. hershiser2 (923), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 25, 2009 Bottle. Very clear amber, small head. Slightly nutty/caramel aroma... has a cheap smell. Not awful... flavor of light caramel and toasted nuts. Awful? No. Bland? Yes.
