| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 23, 2008 12 oz bottle pour. Very sweet malty aroma, copper coloring. Very sweet malty taste with no hoppiness to balance. I’d drink another one if someone gave it to me, but wouldn’t pay for one. Friday (20), Brighton, Michigan, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2008 I guess this is their attempt at an American Pale Ale. Not a bad attempt. But, sould have been much better. Got a great smell. Good Copper color. Slight hop flavor than]t turns sweet and light. Very thin on the palate. Not bad for a cheap ale, like for a hot, sunny day slumped over a BBQ grill. But, much better pale ales exist, pretty much anywhere. Maddog (248), Kettering, Ohio, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Here we go. I cannot for the life of me figure out who they are creating this beer for. For the majority of AB drinkers, the Bud Light crowd, won’t like this beer and the true die hard beer snobs certainly won’t like this one. This amber ale even falls short of low quality brews like Killian’s. It even tastes like a poor man’s Killian’s. All malty sweetness and not enough quality nor hops. I wonder what they tell the brewmasters at AB. ’’Create an ale of average quality, not too distinct, not too hoppy, not too.....good, and we will market the piss out of it, and make millions.’’ topherh (940), Kearney, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Bottle pours a brownish amber, aroma is sweet. Flavor is slightly sweet with grainy malt upfront, followed by light hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is thin. A very average amber. Ernest (4501), Boulder, Colorado, USA

Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium to dark amber.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, resin), with a note of bubble gum.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
There’s not much to it, but there’s certainly nothing particularly wrong about it either. The gummy ester is a little odd (almost as if they were shooting for something like Kwak or De Koninck...or perhaps just missed their intended mark), though not really unpleasant. Rather bland and thin in the mouth, but again not unpleasant or dirty. A good effort in this vein, as with Ascent 54, the Green Valley stuff, etc. AmEricanbrew (1929), orange, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Brilliant clear copper color with a tan head. Yeasty, spicy caramel aroma. Medium body and smooth. Decent toasted caramel syrupy sweet n’ spicy flavor with a crisp clean finish. Drinkable. can8ianben (908), Pasadena, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Starts off with a co2 smell with stale hops. Aroma starts to mellow of sweet malt and subtle hops. Mouthfeel of brown sugar and subtle citrus. Some bite and bitterness in the finish but not much else. An average beer, probably accesible for most who are new to craft brewing. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 22, 2008 Copper color with a thin head. Light, sweet malt aroma. Very light malt taste. A pinch of earthy/floral hop bitterness. This is a craft beer in the same sense that a Chevy Cavilier spray painted at home is now a collector’s car.
