Poured pale red-amber with a big foamy head. Mild aroma of caramel from the roasted malt...are you sure this is an A-B product?? Palate is light and smooth, as you’d expect from a "macro-brewery". Mildly sweet malt flavor up front. Slight lingering hop bite in the back. Amazing?? Of course not. Still, it’s actually drinkable and shows that when they actually TRY, A-B can make a beer with a taste to it. Not going to win over hop heads or anything, but could be a starting point for people who want to graduate to better beers.

Bottle. Won’t have it even if it’s given to me. Lacks taste. Lacks Hops. Terrible head. No body. Taste like ass in a glass.

Original review date 2/1/2009...on tap at Khoury’s in Somerville, down the street from dinner @ Vinny’s at night. This one fills up a pint glass pretty nicely. Good amber body with a decent single-finger ginger-colored head that sticks around a bit. So far, so good. The scent isn’t bad at all, but it doesn’t have a huge amount of strength, either. What you would expect - mild amber malt...maybe a little hop grass in there too. Nothing overpowering but not bad. Well, $#!+ - this tastes OK. It’s straightforward, yes, but what can I say...there’s a decent malt profile(amber...maybe a hint of Munich-ish taste in there), maybe a little bit of hop grass, and it finishes clean. No macro-swill-adjunct aftertaste. Mild, of course, but it’s pleasant. The palate feel on this one is decent. It has a little bit of creamy thickness to it but it’s not heavy. Pretty much comes and goes with an even keel and a solid finish. There’s a time and a place for everything. This is no exception. Maybe I won’t seek this out in bottles but if there’s a place with a limited selection and this is on tap, I won’t be ashamed at all to order up one of these. The kicker - this was a whopping $2 a pint. I know there are a lot of InBud hat-ahs out there, but this product is actually solid.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel and ctirusy hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, cardboard, nuts, and hops, leading to a very bitter finish. The body is thin.

Pours an absolutely crazy head. Amber-colored body. Good carbonation besides the Godzilla head. For the love of God Budweiser!! Couldn’t you have put some aroma hops in this?!?!?!? Flavor? Yes, it’s an ale, but as was expected it’s muted out just like their lager. Not even sure I’d want to spend my money on it as a lawnmower beer. Bought this at a deli that was selling singles. That’s the ONLY reason.

bottle. Dark Amber with an off white head that headed for the hills quick. Taste is very syurie sweet bitter , grassy with a terrible aftertaste. I just don’t get it. Some hoppy beers have a clean after, this ain’t one of them.

Finally decided to find out for myself. 12oz bottle. Clear amber with a huge creamy beige head. Caramel malt aroma with what smells like lager yeast and noble hops (although this is an ale and it supposedly has cascade hops). Creamy caramel malt flavor up front with a bit of hop on the finish. Not terribly complex, but at least the flavor is there. Could use some work on the aroma though.
