Hazy amber orange pour with a huge off-white frothy head that mostly lasted with minimal lacing. Light tart citrus alcohol aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet flavor with a sweet finish of moderate duration. Not what I expected, nice bottle. bitter (1137), Henderson, Nevada, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 30, 2006 a bit of a darker pour then your average bud. white effervesent head. not much nose, slight corn sweets. mouth is slightly malty with a sweet adjunct crunch of rice and corn. a alcoholic feel that seems almosted added to the beer. like a brass monkey. not very enjoyeable. the best thing about this beer is the bottle. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | May 22, 2006 Thanks to the Mad Indian for this one. Pours yellow\gold with a decent white head. Aroma of corn, sweet malts, grain, alcohol, and slight hopps presence. The flavor corn, grain, sweet malts, and some hoppy bitterness. This brew reminded me of a dopplebock with a bottle of bud poured in it, good AB product, but not a very good brew, as the corn and grain flavor stick with you until you rinse your mouth out. rebelbrewer (125), Lithonia, Georgia, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 21, 2006 One large freakin flip top bottle. I poured this into a pilsner glass. It was a dark straw color with an inch high white head, no lacing. It has a very malty aroma and flavor. Hops are not really present. A bit sweet, but if you get through the bottle you won’t care. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Apr 14, 2006 Bottle - swing top. Pours a light gold with a tall fluffy white head. Nose is sort of corn-laden and sweet but there’s a mild grassiness or straw-like aroma to this. Not too bad. Taste is malty and sweet with light corn syrup notes, touch of straw, and soft alcohol notes. Light metallic flavor at times as well. Body is bubbly but restrained and somewhat smooth. Finishes with more sweet malty notes, light corn syrup notes and a bit of alcohol. Light iron notes here. Not bad for AB, but still not that great. Definitely note worth the $12.99 it cost. chargerfanjess (116), San Diego, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 31, 2006 Much better than the others of AB I rated. I could drink this if it was the only beer on earth...not much though. Decent palate for a light. I did like the 8.5% it masked some of the grainy flavor. Hops had a fair bitterness. I di think the malt flavors was OK. Tubbfan (144), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 29, 2006 Wow, what a difference than any other AB product. Nice lasting, antique white, multi-sized head. Good lacing. Amber colored, good carbonation throughout. Everything AB products aren’t. Date on my bottle was 10/7/05. Is this the brew date or best by date? Slightly hoppy aroma. Malt and alcohol dominate the flavor intially. Very appealing! Medium body, but (again) compared to other AB products it tastes like heavy duty grease. I’m sure I’m not the first to ponder (rhetoricly) why they don’t produce this everyday in mass quantity? schquigly (18), louisville, Kentucky, USA
