Finally available locally. Sampled from an old imported “Budweiser Budvar” tulip. Deep gold with a faint loden hue, fast fizzy head that quickly vanishes, and no lace. The aroma is lightly skunked, but not unpleasantly so, with candy-nutty malt, fresh cigar, earthy spice, and cornhusk scents. Malty, sweetish flavor…toasty and cedary… toasted oat cereal finish, spicy bitterness, some saltiness, minty aftertaste. Medium bodied and a little sugary. This, the real B-weiser, is superior in every respect by orders of magnitude to fizzy AB pisswater.

Widely available in Inverness, okay draught in Bar Pivo. Golden in colour, a little lighter than pilsner urquell. Not a bad taste, not mind-blowing however.

12oz bottle, brilliantly clear, 1cm head that fades down to a trace, rich golden color. Smells of sweet malt and spicy hops. Taste is pleasant, a twinge of skunk as noted by previous rater (green glass?) good body, maybe a bit dextrinous or slight underattenuation, strong hop presence, sets the bar for the US Budweiser- if only AB would brew theirs like this, more people here would at least begin to understand what good beer is.

I would love it if this beer was a nice bo pils, but I worry greatly about the damn green bottle. 12oz bottle, served in a NB worthy snifter. (I’m not going to dirty another glass at 2:15AM). Aroma is lightly kilned malt and light herbal and floral hops. A bit of skunking, but it seems to have gassed off, mostly. Just to add an odd note, when I smell this beer I think of Long John Silver. Why? The beer doesn’t smell like fish, maybe it smells like the batter or the hushpuppies, I have no idea. The flavor is crackers and herbal, somewhat bitter, hops. This is pretty tasty, but I am sure it pales in comparison to this a little more fresh. No Bud drinker would get this confused with Budweiser, you can actually taste the malt and hops that go into it.

11.2 oz Czechvar bottle poured into a pilsener glass. Gold in color with a disappointingly small white head that dissipates quickly, leaving only a thin film of lace. Aroma is grassy with a pale malt base. No skunk despite the green bottle. Flavor is cereal grainy with a touch of sweetness. Grassy hops and a little lemon round this pilsener out. Crisp and mostly clean on the finish. A little light on carbonation for the style. Very drinkable.

Draught. Golden color, white head. Sweet malty aroma, balanced taste. Pretty good, but perhaps just slightly too bitter.

Very strong hoppy scent. Very orange pour with negligible head. Very hoppy taste, though somewhat grainy. Definately way more taste then a "Bud". Something a bit malty in the finish. Lingering bitter aftertaste I was not impressed with.

Can: Clear yellow colour, with nice head. Aroma of hops, malts and som citric nose in the end. Flavor is almost the same here, has a smal body, easy to drink, but still a nice lager beer. Short hopy fiish. Nice
