| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Jan 30, 2008 My bottle doesn’t look like the picture, it just says Czechvar, "premium czech lager." An amber beer with a small white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is light malt and maybe some corn or other grains. Taste is thin, some vague maltiness and then a finish like water. I was under the impression that this is supposed to be good beer, but is only slightly better than any other mainstream European lager. Perhaps they save the good stuff for Europe and send watery crap to America? patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 26, 2008 tap at san diego brewing co - Pours clear golden with a thin white head. It smells of sweet pale malts and some mild hops. It’s light and easy drinking without being terribly watery. This mildly hopped session brew isn’t great, but it’s a damn sight better than another "Budweiser" we all know. hrossrm (20), Maine, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 24, 2008 Poured from can. Beautiful rich golden color with a modest head. Smells of sweet grains; very pleasant. Sweet up front, then you taste the hops. Great finish. Obviously, this beer puts American Budweiser to shame. Canuckistani (41), Dundas, Ontario, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Difficult to give an accurate description of the beer fresh out of the liquor store; as this was cellared for close to two years before I got to it.
Pours golden with a loose white head. Contains flecks like a trappist beer but that may be due to age. Sweet, fruity malts with grains blended in nicely. Lightly hopped. Thick, creamy palate is the way that a lager should taste. zeke626 (303), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
