I’m sure it would have been much better on draft. Smell was a bit off, taste was just a bit musty / funky. Rich golden color, smooth & full mouthfeel, but stale taste. I’ll have to do this one again. dmac (1507), Toms River, New Jersey, USA

Pours a rather nice looking crysta clear golden orange with large sized soda bubbles carbonation with an average size slick white head. Aroma of malts, cereal grain, fruit and slight syrup. Medium palate with very lively carbonation and a quickly disipating aftertaste. Flavor is very light compared to the aroma with pilsner malt and slight fruitiness. A drinkable lager. Pretty well balanced with no after taste. Pretty enjoyable overall. We drank 2. I’d equate it to a nice Sam Adams Light ElGaucho56 (393), USA

Served in a huge .5L stein, with at least an inch of head on top, not too much overwhelming in any stage of the beer, grassy hop aroma, doughy bready taste and rather full for a lager, mild tingly medicinal hop bitterness in the finish cleansing the palate and asking for more. Just a truly solid beer, oh so quaffable and enjoyable. slimchill (783), Austin, Texas, USA

I’ve had is in Europe (the Budvar label) and now in the States (Czechvar). The scent this beer produces as soon as you pop the cap is great; a floral hoppy aroma. Golden color with a quickly diminishing white head. I like the aftertaste; wouldn;t call it sweet but its not bitter at alll. Makes you want to drink another one. And another one. Bottle i got was skunked and smelled bad. Fortunately it tasted better than it smelled, but i wouldnt rate it any better than a Coors. My bottle purchased 2 days ago said best before 8/2006.
