I don’t know, what i can say about this beer.It looks very nice, the head is great, the aroma is fine roasted malt but the texture is a little vatery. In the flavour you can feel the taste of the roasted malt and some caramel&tobacco, coffee finish.

Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma ahas malt sweetness. The flavor has some caramel and a slight bitterness. This was a nice easy drink.

On tap at the White Horse, Parson’s Green, 30th Dec 2007. Very near black with a solid cream coloured head. Smells of dark sweet malt with a hint of smokiness. Flavour of rich malt and tobacco. Not complex, but very drinkable. Smooth with a nice aftertaste too. Excellent stuff.

Bottle 0.5 l. Deep deep red, small beige head. Sour malty nose. Dryish roasted and a bit sour flavor. Nicely fresh dunkel, which isn’t too sweet. Some hoppiness detectable too. Pretty easy and enjoyable.

The bottle looks really good and the beer in the glass also. But the foam disappears very fast. The aroma is nearly mystic, very different. The flavor is much too malty, becomes really nasty. That’s why I have to say: Not a good beer!

Had this at the Galway beer festival, but didn’t really take any notes then so I had to buy this at the local off-license here in Dublin. Poured from a 500mL bottle with a nice dark amber color like a cola with a 1-finger head that looked very cola-ish as well. The head settled to a small film and stayed on top throughout the drink. Roasted malts and caramely hints fill the nose upon pour. A bit smokey too it smells like. The flavors that you can smell upon pouring come through right away in the taste too. It is a bit dry and not too full, but quite pleasant. Some sweetness & stickiness comes later on your tongue at the end of each sip along with a slight bit of sourness. Goes down easy with plenty of taste, not as heavy as I would have expected. I like this beer and think that I could drink more than one in a session-but I am not sure if I would drink it all night long.

(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 30 Nov 2007) Dark brown colour, almost black, with frothy pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with toffee, chocolate and coffee. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, chocolate and cola. Not very bitter and not overly sweet. Quite nice beer.

On draught in Prague
Black with an ample tannish head. Aroma is smoky with some roasted maltiness. The flavor matches, Maybe a slight hint of chocolate, but not extreme. Not too heavy. Not bitter. Very drinkable.
