A very pleasant .3L with the Gulash. The medium dark body had some nice grainy bitterness to it. Hops present thruout. A quick sweet finish with a hoppy aftertaste. Nice to have it from the tap. I would have had more if I didnt have to catch an early flight the next morning. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 15, 2007 Blackish-brown with an off-white head of film. Sour aroma of a soggy piece of toasted dark rye. Mild sourness accompanies roasty malt flavor, sort of like weak, black coffee that’s no longer fresh. That’s not a bad thing, in this case. Light, sweet touch on the finish before bitterness kicks in, dry finish, with a malty-bitter aftertaste. Mouthfeel is lively and dry, a nice thing considering so many dunkels and schwarzes tend to run thin and wet. Not an exciting beer, but solid, sessionable, and it has some character. Dry charred toast, sawdust, just a bit of herbal hops underneath. Soft smooth roast flavor. Sort of a one note roast character, like french roast coffee, but it’s a nice note. Just a touch of clean bitterness, abrupt finish. Quack-Duck (3214), Bodensee/Schwarzwald, Germany

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | May 19, 2007 Dark clear look with a collapsing white head. Vague aroma of sweet malt, with some even weaker notes of roasted malts and something smoked. Seem overly carbonated. Flavor is refreshing with abit of bitter hops and some roasted notes. stouby (1944), Holbaek, Denmark

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2007 My first dunkel - a nice pint. Light bodied, frothily carbonated lagerness with biscuity, roasted malt, and the soft Saaz bitterness on the palate - like a cross between a stout and a pilsener. Dry, refreshing, drinkable. Will have to try more dunkels to see how this compares but works for me. ChrisThomson (397), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
