On tap in Prague, pours a dark brown. Smooth mouthful. Mild flavour of nuts, caramel and roasted malt. Much better than ordinary Budvar. Refreshing.

Probably the best dark Czech beer widely available. A dry and remarkably smooth beer that is well worth seeking out on draught when in the Czech Republic

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a large tan head. Roasted, malty aroma. Flavor is mild, but full of roasted malt, caramel, nuts. Fairly sweet, not much hoppiness. Finish is full of caramel. A mild but satisfying dunkel.

Bottled. A very elegant dark malty lezak with an invincible "duncan-macleodish" head. Delicious caramel and roasty notes too...

Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with a off-white head that fades fairly slowly.. Sweet caramel nose, both strong and enticing. Good combination here of candy sweet caramel and roasted nuts, followed by smoe mild dry hops. The caramel lasts the longest, leaving a sweet aftertaste accented by a touch of bitter.

Rich hoppy aroma. Mahogany with medium off-white head. Strong malty flavour, slightly sweet. Hoppy palate. Finishes dark caramel. Quite good, but not the best.
