Thin to medium bodied. Mild carbonation. A lightly sweet malt flavor, balanced by a hint of light citrus? Not really any bitter. It is clean, not buying into crisp. It’s different. OK with a plate of hot wings but couldn’t get past the corn flavor. One taste confirmed my suspicion - AB has hit rock bottom and decided to keep digging. Odd off-malt flavor. No hops. Strange finish, like burnt rice. Awful. This is the worst beer I’ve ever had, and I’ve had some doozies. I couldn’t even finish one. If I could have given it a zero, I would have. At least the bottle was pretty cool. rotoguru (93), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA

Drank out of bottle but I’m guessing pale golden and no head per the routine. Very light nose and surprisingly mild (very mild) sweet but nothing distinct (guess you can’t smell the rice or this is what rice is supposed to smell like). Typical mass market flavor (or lack thereof) and similar but milder palate (less bitter than usual) and clean... but still a Bud. | 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Jul 10, 2007 Bottle, from Duvel tulip, a bit cooler than cellar temp. Born on 27MAR07. Looks like Bud. Smells like Bud. Tastes like Bud. This beer is literally indistinguishable from "non-select" Budweiser in every way, shape and form. I am at a loss to detect even the slightest difference. Perhaps if I had them both in front of me at the same time...ah, but that’s just crazy talk. Having never done a "proper" tasting of Bud Light, I have to assume that this is derived from it somehow, based on the alcohol content. My math sucks, but I believe if you mix 7 parts Bud Light with 1 part Budweiser, you get Budweiser Select. Rather than give an objective rating, I’ll just mirror my Bud numbers. scottmc (167), Lakewood, Colorado, USA
