Budweiser Select

I am usually not a huge fan of the Budweiser family of beers, but this one is different. I prefer this beer over Budweiser Original and Bud Light.

What is the goal here? My impression tucking into this was that I was in for the brewers attempt at something respectable (i.e. he "selected" this brew as something special). I’m an idiot for maintaining such lofty expectations. I’d have to try this side-by-side with regular Bud to be certain (and that ain’t gonna happen), but I’m pretty sure this is the same beer with a different label. And I made the grievous error of purchasing a supercan of this stuff!

I rarely rate an industrial macro but after an otherwise "normal" buddy mentioned that he liked this one, I thought I owed it a try.... now I owe him a whack on the head. Pours a pale yellow and fizzy with a very short-lived white "head". Standard skunky - though faint - aroma of grain. Practically no flavor (and that’s a good thing because what little flavor there is is borderline offensive - adjunct-heavy and no hops). Mouthfeel is no feel = water. Finishes with no discernable effect on the toungue. This stuff is just the latest in A-B’s spectacularly effective advertising-driven NASCAR/Wal-Mart cheap swill.

I am not a fan of bud, i’ll drink it if i have to and i won’t complain...to much, but this has to be there best attempt so far, What I LIKED about this beer is that you could just drink them, over and over; with out thinking about an "obvious taste" or bad after taste....This beer is made purely for the man or woman who wants to just drink beer and thats it!!! I had two 12 packs that lasted 2-3 days! me and my friends drank this crap like water, not because it was delicous, but because it has so little of everything in it! quite crazy! had again after about a year...crap crap crap...to fizzy tasting on the tongue, select must mean something different in st.louis because i think it means sour piss.

pours yellow with a two finger head and light body.small sweet taste not much else in taste and smell descent light beer better than bud light and any miller products.goes down smooth standard party beer.

Smells old/stale. Very odd tasting beer, as if it was egineered in a lab. Mich ultra much better (I geuss, if you had to drink it, especially when mowing the yard on a hot summer day).

On Tap at Lollapalooza. The selection at the concert was poor so I went with this since I had never had it. Just like bud light, but has a different name. Pretty piss poor. Typical macro pale lager. Give me a break. Pass.
