I grew up sneaking Carling Black Label, Schlitz and Miller High Life from my dad’s cooler, so when I tried Bud the first time, I thought it was the best beer I’d ever had.... until it got warm, then it made me gag. Years later, while attending Oktoberfest in Munich for the first time (and seeing the light), I asked some of the locals, which American beers they liked and all of them said "BUDWEISER" in unison. I was flabbergasted.

The appearence is very pale, and the head is white but slightly thin. The smell is of malt and barley. There is also a slight hop smell in the background. The taste is crip, with a bit of a corn & rice flavor. A very light hop taste does try to poke it way into your taste buds but is slight at best. I always look to this beer as the old standard. It is my first ecperience ever with beer and is always a beer that i will go to from time to time. Hopefully it will never change.

40 ounce bottle. Clear yellow body, with white head. Smells like corn. Dry finish with what seems to be hop extract. Not a good beer by any means, but definitely better than light.

I’ve tasted a lot of microbrews that cost a lot more and taste just like this, but this is cheaper...plus it reminds me of childhood summer days at the lake, sneaking these out of our fathers’ big metal coolers...we figured they would not miss 1 or 2 but we always drank more. They tasted so good because one of the other fathers had a beer called Pearl Light; and we always had to end up drinking those, because I think the adults would drink the Bud first too. Even to beer neophytes like we were, we knew that Pearl Light was bad bad stuff. So don’t denigrate Bud, I tell you!

I actually think I prefer Bud light. If your going to make a weak lager might as well make it low calorie.

Bottle. 5%. Plain, flavourless, clear yellow fizz. Great for NASCAR fans in 40+ weather. Not much use otherwise.
