Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is blueberries, roast, grains, sweet fruits, malt. Flavor is blueberry, roast, barley, chocolate, the blueberry and the roasted grains and dark malts meld together strangely but it works. Bitter chocolate cocoa finish with a strange blueberry skin bitter tinge in the finish. Strange brew, but keep em comin Buffalo Bill.

30th July 2008. Opaque stout with a beige head. Startling sharp blueberry and floral sweetness over a robust mildy toasted oatmeal stout. Flavour has an artificial tang but that’s okay. The carbonation works well.

pours black with very light head. aroma is light blueberry, burnt malts, chocolate. drinks very thin with fake berry taste. not that impressive but i’d take it over bud.

Bottle from coopers. Poured a dark brown color with a small dark head. Aroma is strong blueberry with some chocolate as well. TaSte is a combination of fake blueberry and some chocolate. Pretty drinkable but not very good.

12 oz bottle from Canal’s Hainesport. Pours a dark brown body with a smaller sized bubbly beige head. Aroma is pretty awful. The blueberry aroma is super strong and artificial and when combined with the roastiness of the dark malts it reminds me of cheap bathroom soap. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation and a slick finish on your tongue. The roastiness of the malts comes across nicely with some chocolate notes as well, reminds me of the first few times I had Petes Wicked Ale back in the mid 90s. However saying that the artificial blueberry is once again so overpowering that it just kills this beer. Not good.

Has a hazy dark ruby pour with a light tan and tan bubbled head, aromas of sour Blueberry, faint malt, hints of coffee, dark sweetener, a little toasted and /or roasted malt aroma, the malt aroma is minimal, flavors of tart Blueberry and little malt, not a good mix, a bit more malt flavor would have been a great help to this beer, the Blueberry sour bite needed to be balanced, this is pretty tough to drink, mouth feel is about medium, I found the aroma and pour to be ok but otherwise not enjoyable at all, steer clear of this.

Buffalo Bills has an unhealthy addiction to produce. Fruit beers, pumpkin beers - something about the unconventional combination of beer and things you’d pick out of a farmers markets has sent their beer designers into a frenzy. And so here’s the Blueberry Oatmeal Stout, a self-loathing, menacing beer that can’t quite make up it’s mind whether to go left or right, and so goes straight and off a cliff. The aroma, however, is very nice, reminding me of a blintz filled with blueberry preserves, with a more sour than sweet quality. It’s the taste that really disabuses me of my general love for fruit beers. A good, raw blueberry flavor combats a standard oatmeal stout flavor, and the two don’t even begin to mix. It’s a self-destructive duality, extending to the poor drinker. There’s not much I can do to reconcile the two flavors, and so they continue to quarrel on my tongue, giving themselves a bad reputation. Other BB creations fare much better, but I don’t think this is a wisely selected match.

Pours a dark brown, nearly black body with brown head that vanishes slowly. The aroma is strong blueberries. The flavor is smooth, more like a black fruit beer rather than a stout. Although, there are strong flavours of stories of pat’s grandfather out in the great blueberry fields where he earned himself a holocaust of pain, emploding on the earth. Also notes of roast, smooth sweet oatmeal. Great fruit beer.
