| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Pours a dark brown, nearly black body with brown head that vanishes slowly. The aroma is strong blueberries. The flavor is smooth, more like a black fruit beer rather than a stout. Although, there are strong flavours of stories of pat’s grandfather out in the great blueberry fields where he earned himself a holocaust of pain, emploding on the earth. Also notes of roast, smooth sweet oatmeal. Great fruit beer. chiefwahoo (12), Ohio, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 14, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a deep black with a mocha web of bubbles on top. Aroma is blueberry but its not overwhelming. This tastes like a quality oatmeal stout; mild roast, a touch of chocolate and a pleasant finish of blueberry. hopscotch (5522), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Bottle... Pours midnight black with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Fantastic retention. The aroma is a nice swirl of blueberry, coffee and chocolate. Full-bodied and creamy with prickly carbonation. Sweet, acrid and fruity. Chocolate, blueberry and coffee with decent bitterness. Surprisingly well-done. I’ll be drinking more of this. Underrated, I think. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 12, 2009 12 oz bottle. Deep brown with a loose tan head. Nose is bittersweet chocolate, roasty malt and a decent blueberry aroma. Nice bittersweet chocolate flavor with a good, complementary blueberry sweetness. A mild bitterness pops up late, a roasty bite followed by more blueberry in the finish. Excellent sheetlike lace. Really a pleasant drinker. A nice surprise! WesKBob (321), Bethany, Oklahoma, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2008 Pours a deep brown, almost black color with a beige head that leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is just what you would expect--some roasted and coffee flavors and lots of blueberries. As strong as the blueberry smell was, I was a little concerned, but the blueberry flavor in the beer was more subtle. In this case, the sweetness of the blueberry was there, but not overpowering. Just enough to do a nice job of complementing the stout beer. Could use a little more chocolate or coffee malt, but still solid. i’m not usually a fan of fruity beers, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this one.
