Feb 18, 2009 Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty oaty chocolate flavor with some weak hints of licorice. Has a roasted malty chocolate and licorice finish.

Dec 12, 2004 Tap. Black opaque ale with a subdued hops aroma. Malts and hops balance is good, and some moka chocolate notes in finish. Medium bodied.(June 2004).

Jul 21, 2006 On tap @ Buffalo Bills poured a clear dark reddish black with a small dissapating tan head. Aromas of coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla and a hint of smoke. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, milk chocolate, a hint of coffee and some roastiness with a smooth lightly bitter finish.

Sep 6, 2009 Draft at the brewpub! Black with a medium cinnamon tan head. Nose of chocolate, coffee, and granola. Flavor was light hop bitterness, chocolate, and light pepperiness.

Jan 3, 2009 On tap at the brewpub with golubj. Poured a dark brown to black color. Aroma of oats, oatmeal, cocoa, and roasted malt. Not overly sweet in the flavor or aroma. I thought that was good. Flavor was oaty, coffee, and roasted matl. Pretty solid beer.

Mar 5, 2003 Tap. Brown color with you can see through. You can tell this is trouble just by looking at it. Smooth but seems watered down for a stout. Some chocolate in the aftertaste but you have to look for it. Otherwise you get the malts in the flavor.

Jan 17, 2008 On tap @ the brewery. Great, rich oatmeal nose with good complexity. Flavor was full, with chocolate and malt, with a very smooth mouthfeel. Very nice brew.
