Not worth the price. dkachur (2435), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 13, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Whole Foods Charlottesville. The first pumpkin spice beer of the year! The malicious and hateful summer will soon be mercifully past, leading to the bliss that is winter. Hazy orange-brown pour with no head. Fruity apple-cider like aroma with heavy nutmeg notes as well as hints of some other spices. A trt and fruity taste mild showing pumpkin and then the spices. All of the spices are noticeable in the taste. I like the spice profile, but the beer seems to be tart in a way that it shouldn’t. stchloe (491), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2008 The pumpkin is handled well in this beer, the flavor is preserved. When combined with hops and pumpkin pie spices creates a balance that is a little bit like drinking a pie. JCB (1799), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 5, 2008 12oz bottle from Immy - thanks, Tim! The ratings on this one are a bit unfair, I think, as this is as solid a pumpkin brew as many others with better scores. Pours and looks much like any ol’ amber ale, but it’s got a richly spiced nose with some hints of pumpkin flavoring. It’s closer to the DFH offering than the insanity that is Southern Tier, and it does just fine alongside others in its class. Block (379), West Lafayette, Indiana, USA

Great for when the weather gets colder. I can drink a couple, but not an everyday or all night brew. Sparky27 (1642), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 7, 2008 Bottle courtesy of GMCC2181. Pours a cloudy amber with zero head. Nose it nutmeg, pumpkin and spice. Palate is much the same with a slightly sour finish. Light mouth feel. Better than the other pumpkin beer I’ve had, but not that great. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber body with an off white head. Aroma has more cinnamon, clove, and spices then the beer itself. These flavors diminish quickly leaving some
a sour flavor but not a good one. Pick up Sarnac instead. gfolivares (67), McAllen, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 12, 2008 Pours an orange/copper color with thin head. Very aromatic with dusty, earthy notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumkin spice. Medium bodied with desent carbonation. Very pungent taste, with suggestions of pumpkin pie/bread with a heavy hand of nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and cinnamon. Long, lingering taste of clove, nutmeg, and, of course, pumpkin. Taste was a bit unbalanced, the spice notes drowned everything else out a bit too much. Try with pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, or spiced christmas pudding.
