Sampled from a 12 oz. bottle. Poured mostly clear amber color with a small off white head. The aroma was mostly the spices (cloves, et al.) with some malts present as well. The flavor was mostly spicey, with some semi sweet malt and perhaps pumpkin. This was my second attempt at a pumpkin beer and I’m thinking that its just not my style. The aroma of theis one was less offensive than the first.

(bottle) medium orange-gold with small tannish head. Aroma of spices. Flavor was mostly spice, maybe a hint of pumpkin in the aftertaste

Pours a slightly cloudy orange shade with almost no head to speak of. Huge clove and nutmeg aroma, reminds me of smelling the old McCormick spice tins when I was younger. Anyway... spices predictibly dominate the palate, from start to finish, with cloves being the dominant spice. Nice cinnamon finish. You really have to love spices to enjoy this beer. There’s not much going on beerwise, body is watery and it does have a bland maltiness. I happen to be a sucker for the spiciness, so it gets high marks in the flavor and aroma categories, but it’s just lacking as an all around good beer. It’s just a spiced assault on your senses!

An almost orangge pour with light off white head and lace. A huge spiced aroma reeks of a clovelike aroma. A spiced flavor that matches the aroma. It almost reminds me of pumpkin pie. Sweetness that hints of malt and an almost warm cinnamon finish. A bit foamy but palate is smooth and reasonalby full. A beer that is good flavorful and well spiced. I don’t think I could drink them all the time or if I could drink a lot of them.

12 oz bottle. Poured a slightly hazy medium orange color. Head was fluffy, off white, and dissipated to a thin film in less than a minute. Spice dominated aroma; cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, yada, yada, yada. The usual pumpkin beer suspects. There were also whiffs of brown sugar and pumpkin. Delicate sugars and acidity on the tongue with lots of spice, most notably cinnamon. Didn’t get much pumpkin flavor. Not bad, but for me it was too spicy and there wasn’t enough pumpkin.

Large amounts of clove in the aroma, with some nutmeg. Pours orange amber. Very spicy, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, the pumpkin is not very detectable, but its still enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours more of an orange colored amber with very little head. Aroma lighter, with nutmeg prominent and light cinnamon and clove. Flavor comes in with quite a bit more clove than the smell, some cinnamon, and a fair amount of pumpkin. This one has more actual pumpkin flavors than the others I’ve tried so far and it’s nice. Fairly thin in profile overall though and lacking in body somewhat. It’s really good though, well balanced I suppose and having real pumpkin come through so strong is extra points. Somewhat toasty and lightly burnt in the finish, which is short and spicy. Still in search of the perfect pumpkin this year and I think DFH is still winning so far.

Pours orange with a short gravelly white head. Aroma is sweet and a bit citrusy. Flavor is of pumpkins and not much else, a little hops come through though. Body is a bit thin and the finish is mild.
