Thanks to Immy, 12 oz bottle. Pours amber color with white white which does not last long. Sweat spice aroma. Watery taste not much to this beer.

Sampled a six pack. Very smooth beer. Aroma is full of cinnamon and pumpkin spices. Appearance is very pale and unexciting. Mouthfeel in incredibly smooth. Flavor is tremendous with lots of pumpkin, cloves and cinnamon flavoring. Definitely worth a try.

Poured from 12 oz. bottle. Pours orange/amber color. Scent upon pour is very srongly of pumpkin pie and holiday scents. The beer has a slight taste of pumpkin. With the smell of the beer I was expecting a much stonger pumpkin presence in the taste. It’s probably good as it doesn’t overpower the taste. Pumpkin mostly shows in aftertaste, but also develops later in drink. Very easy to drink beer. It’s the ’treat’ I give to Trick or Treating Dad’s that take their kids trick or treating.

23-Jan-07 (12 oz bottle: Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) I saw this beer in the cooler and on a whim, I decided to give it another chance. And it’s showing an aspect I didn’t remember from the first time. The beer starts out with plenty of flavor: pumpkin pie spices, bready malts and gently tart citrus. It’s that initial tartness that is jumping out at me and I think this dimension helps this beer immensely. Unfortunately, the tartness is extremely short-lived, and the spiciness diminishes considerably too, leaving just the breadiness to take over the finish. And without any hops or bitterness to cut in, the breadiness gets really old really fast, weighing down the palate with a tired staleness. The beer is medium-bodied and carbonation is moderate, but the flat finish is a significant problem. In the nose, the spicy aromas of nutmeg and cloves are clearly present, but there’s the moderate tartness of citrus that makes the nose much more enjoyable than the flavor. The beer is golden-amber in color and slightly hazy in appearance. The off-white head disappears rapidly, fading to a thin ring, and leaving very little lacing. A promising start with each sip, but since the beer falls apart moments after each swallow, the only solution is to chug this beer. Hehehe.

Holy freakin nutmeg! That’s about all I could think of, initially. Definitely tastes a bit like an over-spiced pumpkin pie. Now, believe me, I was expecting this, but jeeez, could you add a little more nutmeg? I doubt it. Cloves are the second most predominant flavor, to me, with some cinnamon and ginger maybe. I enjoy pumpkin pie a great deal, but maybe my bad experience with nutmeg and the overly-spiced nature of this ale turn me off. In any case, this is one of those rare brews that leaves me wondering if I’ll ever finish the sixer. Interesting, I suppose, and somewhat unique, but I don’t think I like it.

Strong, spicy, pumpkin smell. Amber in color with white head. Tastes like a pumpkin air freshener. Very spicy taste, somewhat acidic. A lingering aftertaste. I would not order this beer again.
