Only my second pumpkin ale, but light years ahed of the Pumpkinhead. A nice seasonal. ELPADRINO (70), The Woodlands, Texas, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Nov 1, 2005 Pours a light amber with 1/4 inch head. Head quickly disperses. Aroma is pumpkin, nutmeg, allspice, and toothpaste... yes, toothpaste. Taste is heavy on the pumpkin and nutmeg. Aftertaste mixes pumpkin and hops. Body is watery, but with the heavy pumpkin taste, I don’t think I could handle a full bodied version. Overall, this beer isn’t for me. I wanted to try this seasonal brew for a different taste experience, and that’s exactly what I got. Unfortunately, this is the first beer I’ve tasted in a long time that I really haven’t liked at all. The beer itself isn’t brewed poorly; my personal preference is just in a different direction. It’s always fun to try something new, though! richlikebeer (832), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 29, 2005 This is the first spiced brew I’ve had. I had little hopes for such beers but am pleasantly surprised by the subtelties in this beer. The cloves and ciniman really come through but do not overpower. Mouthfeel and aroma are a little weak. I’d like to try more spiced beers like this. jmcguire1969 (149), Lafayette, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 28, 2005 This is the first Pumpkin Ale I’ve ever tasted. Interesting flavors. I’m pretty sure there’s not any real pumpkin (as the bottle says)...that would not keep well. Ton’s of spices; nutmeg, cinnamon and clove?...slight hops in the aroma. This one is light and lets the spice come forward. Nice and easy pale ale base makes this a lawn mowers...er uh, I mean, leaf raker’s dream. Happy Halloween! restless7 (104), Lenexa, Kansas, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Oct 27, 2005 I have to disagree that the taste wasn’t overwhelming with pumpkin. I could anticipate the pumpkin from the aroma and it was very strong on my opinion. I did not like this beer because the pumpkin was too strong. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2005 aroma is strong and sweet. pours a nice dark copper hue. flavor is almost overpowering, sweet spicyness but with a very faint pumkin finish. not the best pumpkin beer I’ve had. theacelatrain (262), Washington DC, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 23, 2005 Updated: Dec 27, 2005Bottle. Pours orange-brown. At first, merely disappointing, almost nothing but ginger - severely needs some balancing sweetness. Halfway through, it became downright offensive, growing a strong vegetable flavor, like pumpkin stems, perhaps. Gross.
