Color was a fairly dark orange or amber with a white head. Aroma was the quintessential red malt aroma, caramel and bread. Flavor was very malty and easy to drink. It has kind of a funky hop aroma as well as taste. The aftertaste is tinny and the whole flavor and aftertaste hang out for a while in the back of you throat. I liked that part. Aromas of bread, carmel, toffee and light citrus. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, carmel and a hint of orange with a smooth finish. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Dec 12, 2004 Tap. German hooped style ale, hazy reddish copper cloured. The hops became floral, yet restrained in the end. Good balnced body.(June 2004).
