| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 4, 2008 Pours a deep, almost opaque, almost sable brown with a fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma is rich and smoky with strong coffee overtone and spicy hints. Malty flavor is well-rounded with a considerable burnt coffee component and hints of chocolate and hops. The sweetness nicely balances the hoppy bitterness. Texture is smooth, rich and pleasing. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Tap at the Falling Rock. Pour of creamy, dark toffee appearance, layering a thick, frothy head up the sides of the glass. Aroma of cream soda, vanilla cavendish, salted taffy, fig, and raspberry. Nutty, sweet and soft. Flavor is a sweet mash of old bananas, cinnamon, caramel, red licorice, vanilla, and toffee. Palate is cool and very soft with an earthy, woody texture and lots of residual sugar; finishes long and dry with raspberry bitterness and some gummy iced tea. Underattenuated throughout, but pretty smooth and easygoing enough to be pleasant. waolsen (1224), Littleton, Colorado, USA
