It was mostly black in color with brown around the edges where the light could peek through. The initial smell was malt vinegar, so much so that I thought they might have accidentally gotten some in my glass. It was a good smell though and I pushed onward to the tasting. The taste was a clean, lager taste with a smooth mouth-feel. I enjoyed this beer and one day I think I will be able to truly appreciate well made lagers.
