Dark red-brown with no head. The smell was like vinegar but not in a good way. The taste was strong sour vinegar with some cherry and alcohol flavors. This one upset my stomach and I think this 2005 vintage was past its prime. God only knows what it was like fresh. This beer was not good and I happen to like sour beers. On tap at the brewpub 11/28/07. Pours flat with no head. Nose of cherries, tartness, sourishness and sweetness. Taste is tart, puckerish, alcoholy, and lingering sweetness from the cherries. Body is medium-thick that stays full all through the drink. I liked this beer.

On tap at the brewpub on 10/12/07: Pours a murky dark mahogany with a thin ring of white bubbles. Aroma of slightly whiskey oak and tart cherries. Body starts with an authentic oaky cherry complexity and good tartness and sweet light fruity notes for balance. True to style and enjoyable.

(Draught) Pours a reddish-brown body with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet cherry (syrup-like) and lactic acid. Flavor of sweet cherries, sugar, light oak, and some caramel.

Draft. Vintage 2005. A pitch black beer with no head. The arom ais sweet with strong notes of over ripe cherries and wood. The flavor is dominated by cherries and wood, but with a weird acidity - very different from a Belgian Kriek - too much for me. It finishes with a strong acidity in the throat.
