Amarillo apricot peach aroma. Citrus and earthy sweet flavors. No carb at all in the drink. Still good body though. One of my favorite cask beers ever. Braudog (3774), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 24, 2006 Draft pint at the brewpub, 9/11/06: Orangey-copper with a firm pillowtopped head. Again, little aroma here. BIG malty power at first with a puckeringly lime-like finish. More and more cookie-like as I swallow. segfault (98), Centennial, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 11, 2006 From a growler alaskanwarren gave me for my birthday. Slightly hazy deep golden pour, nice sudsy head. Aroma of C-hop, loads of it, and malty. Definately an American IPA. Citrusy, full, floral, piney. Crisp and clean on the tongue. Big time hops in this one, a bit like chewing on a mouthful of them. Wow! Has a "hop showcase" feel to it. Lemon citrus, and slightly resinous. A nice balance of bitter and malt Slightly biscuity. Nicely executed. The second pint, the hops were almost too much in the aroma department, otherwise, this would have been rated even higher. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2006 This was simply delicious. Has a kind of fruity, apple pie spice aroma, with some grapefruit as well. Flavor is tart at first and melts into this creamy malty mouthfeel, followed by some zesty bitterness, that always manages to stay smooth and delicious. This is a very well put together IPA Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 17, 2006 Alaskanwarren kindly bottled this up from a growler for me. Copper with a skim of white bubbles. Deliciously fresh grapefruit, tart apples, cinnamon. A lively and spicy aroma, with a touch of underlying honey sweetness. Nice level of bitterness, but a little resiny. Not distractingly so. The clinging hops give it some nice substance. I liked this! Survived the bottling quite well! brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Updated: Oct 12, 2005Sampled at Falling rock during GABF (Me so Hoppy). Great looking beer! Copper/Orange with a medium sized white foamy head. Nice pine hop aroma. Fresh, simple, clean. Fruity hop flavor (peach and orange) with very well represented malts that make the hop bitterness smooth throughout. Creamy medium body, that works great with this IPA. Most enjoyable IPA of the GABF trip. I’d love to get my hands on some of this. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2005 From the cask. Copper clear with a piqued offwhite head. Aroma is lemony and bitter - like a lemon seed. Taste is like chewing on grapefruit. Over time, some other flavors come in. Ok, never mind, mainly it’s just grapefruity hops. Some piney resonous hints. Body is nice and thick. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Draft, Cask, Falling Rock. Gold brown and clear. Super citrus and grapefruit rind aroma, with some malt. Huge citrusy woody hop flavors with some caramel malt backing, and a huge lingering bitter bite. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Seriously unbalanced, but to me, fairly enjoyable.
