Copper/Orange with a medium sized white foamy head. Nice pine hop aroma. Fresh, simple, clean. Fruity hop flavor (peach and orange) with very well represented malts that make the hop bitterness smooth throughout. Creamy medium body, that works great with this IPA. Most enjoyable IPA of the GABF trip. I’d love to get my hands on some of this. chilehead (186), Laguna Niguel, California, USA

Excellent IPA, medium bodied with light piney hop notes and a wonderful cask-ale texture. Cloudy straw pour with minimal head. One of my favorite ipa’s of the week. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA

Has a kind of fruity, apple pie spice aroma, with some grapefruit as well. Flavor is tart at first and melts into this creamy malty mouthfeel, followed by some zesty bitterness, that always manages to stay smooth and delicious. This is a very well put together IPA Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA

Copper with a skim of white bubbles. Deliciously fresh grapefruit, tart apples, cinnamon. A lively and spicy aroma, with a touch of underlying honey sweetness. Nice level of bitterness, but a little resiny. Not distractingly so. The clinging hops give it some nice substance. I liked this! Survived the bottling quite well! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2005 Updated: Feb 22, 2006Cask at Falling Rock: Frothy head; cloudy and orange-hued. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, naturally. Doughy malts. Sharp aromas: spices, perfumes, pepper, pine and citrus (tangerine and lemon). Dryish finish. Really tasted like it was aged in a white wine barrel. At first I found the beer kind of awkward, but it grew on me with a little time. Rerate, draft at brewery: Sweet and earthy, cookie-dough malts, with hints of cocoa and sugary caramel. Juicy citrus (orange, grapefruit). Healthy amount of pine and a nice level of bitterness to balance things out. Slight nip of alcohol gave it a little edge. Somewhat dry finish. ratman197 (3235), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aroma of piny citrusy hops. Mouthfeel was dry and resiny. Flavors of grapefruit rind, pine and a bit of carmel with a dry bitter finish. Very out of balance but Its a hopheads dream. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA

Super citrus and grapefruit rind aroma, with some malt. Huge citrusy woody hop flavors with some caramel malt backing, and a huge lingering bitter bite. Smooth creamy mouthfeel. Seriously unbalanced, but to me, fairly enjoyable. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2005 Cask at Falling Rock. Off yellow, a little cloudy. No head, of course. Sweet malty aroma, small hops. No carbonation as it should be, smooth casked mouthfeel. Hops are well expressed, and linger long through the finish.
