Very dark for an IPA with a deep walnut color and an off-white head with plenty of lacing. Complex fruity aroma, smooth medium body, and superbly balanced fruity and floral hop bouquet at the end. A really excellent IPA that I wish I could get in a bottle -- Bull & Bush is worth visiting for their beers but not the food. arrogantb (714), Denver, Colorado, USA

It was such a bright orange it looked like light was being emitted. The smell was subdued hops. The taste was really balanced between malt and hops with none of the fruity notes I am used to in an IPA. The flavor was very good and the drinkability was excellent. Good stuff.

Very flavor full with some caramel and a looong bitterness. Slightly oxidized, as cask ales sometimes are, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Syrupy mouth feel and perfect low carbonation. After a half pint, the bitterness is almost burning. Excellent! millerclmb (44), Boulder, Missouri, USA

The aroma was quite hoppy and smelled as if it would be not balanced to my tastes...but I was prooved wrong with the first taste. Some how the olfactory senses were overshadowed (maybe I had a cold) by and incrediblly well balanced choclatly maltiness. The balance was nutty and memorable. I’d order another one...and did. Slightly hazy pale amber with a skim of light tan head. Given the circumstances, a fine looking beer. Clean, perfumey hop aromas reach me before I put the glass to my nose to sniff. Flower garden in the morning, lemon zest, a bit of fresh sliced grapefruit. Clean, bracing bitterness, a bit of alcohol, but both nicely blended. Lightly fruity character that complements the hops. Soft palate. A classy, bright IPA. This seems really underrated to me, but I am noticing some of the low ratings seem to feel like it was a bit over-carbonated. In which case, maybe hand bottling actually improved this one! kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
