Coffee roast aroma. Small beige head. Black very smooth on the palate and slightly fruity with some bitterness and dryness in a coffee roast finish. arrogantb (701), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2009 Picked up a growler of this at Bull and Bush because I realized I had never tasted it before. The color was the obvious black with a great foamy, coffee-colored head. The smell was malty with a bit of roastiness in there. The flavor was smooth roasty, good stout. I killed the growler all by myself so it was definitely very easy to drink.

Roasty malt and toasted caramel aroma with a touch of earthy hops. Body starts with a light caramel malty sweetness and decent bittering hoppy balance toward a nice dark chocolate roasty finish. A good stout. alaskanwarren (286), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2005 Dark Brown, with a creamy head. Roasty aroma, with a hint of hops. Rather plain, not complex flavor. It feels pretty creamy though. Served a little cold, so that masked the taste a bit. Still, good creamy, roasty taste. Very very drinkable. Solid. notalush (2660), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 16, 2009 A nicely balanced stout, with an interesting mixture of chocolate sweetness, roasted malt character, and a light bit of tartness - sweet up front, followed by a medium dry middle and finish - a touch of diacetyl, but the bitterness and tartness keep it fairly subdued, keeping it just present enough to make this stout taste "very british" - decent. ratman197 (3206), Arvada, Colorado, USA
