Commercial Description:
Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

From my notes 6/10/07 pours a one-finger off-white head that fades slowly to a thin layer, leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Malty/fruity nose. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is malty with a malty/cidery finish. Brewed Oct 31, 2006. €4 ($5.48) for a 330ml bottle from the Holiday Inn Venice, Italy

Bottle. Light creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Clear light sparkling body with an amber colour. Very fruity notes with some hops and sweet malt. Light to medium bodied with an average carbonation. Flavour was light sweet malt with some balancing hoppy bitterness. Finish was slightly dry and bitter.

Bottled. Clear dark dolden in colour. It has a minor bubbly white head, lacings. The aroma is corn-like and malty. The flavour is malty and dry. I sense sugar and caramel in this one. Thanks to Dorqui for this one.

Bottled. Copper colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is strong malts, some hops and barley. Flavour is malty, caramel, candy sugar and some slight roasted notes. The finish and aftertaste are dominated by a dry hoppyness. Good strong ale!

Light brown in color with creamy white head. Sweet soapy leafy aroma. Tea rich malt flavor was actually enjoyable.

Hi, I found bulldog a wonderfully mellow strong barley wine type beer. Served chilled makes a wonderfully smooth drink. I have shared a few bottles with friends and they are of the same opinion as me. Its real ale to the bottom of the bottle! Here in Dudley, [Black Country] it as been on sale for around six months, I hope it carries on being on sale! Alan
