Commercial Description:
Starting with a beautiful aroma of apricots, this beer is fruity, crisp and naturally cloudy from the wheat. The finish is dry with a lingering flavor of apricots and malted wheat that will leave you asking for more.

Draft @ Six N Save. Wow, who would have thought I could get a Bullfrog draft on the western side of PA ?!? Coloring is just like a glass of apple cider, small white head that dissapears almost immediately to leave a wisp on the top. Aroma is a very subdued apricot and wheat. Flavor is at first wheat and then a really great touch of apricot on the finish, though it’s not cloying or sweet, just enough to enjoy it, but not get sick of it. Finish is dry.

Draft at Bullfrog. Pours coppery with white head. Nose is apricot, peach, malt. Tastes of apricot puree, hopcitrus, and malt. THis is a very solid example of this style.

Draft. Opaque sandy color, nose of heavy apricot and only minor wheat. Minor hop and pepper jazz up the flavor, but it’s still heavy on the apricot and there is more wheat in the flavor, very, very robust wheat. Moderate bodied, slightly sticky. Too heavy in the wheat and apricot, and neither is delicate or intricately balanced.

Draft, at Bullfrog Brewpub on 7/5/09. Pours a clear copper color, topped with a small white head. Aroma is a bit subdued, wheat is the highlight, but there are some hints of real apricot in the background. Wheat is the dominant flavor as well, but the apricot is a little more evident than in the aroma. There are notes of grain, a little earth, and white pepper in the background. Finish was a tad astringent. Better than I expected.

I was a bit impressed by this beer so I decided to rate it out of the sampler at the brewpub. Usually fruit wheat beers suck a lot but this was rather well done, at least the aroma, which was all natural fuzzy apricot skins. If you could smell fuzzy fruit this would be it. Doesn’t smell artificial or cheap. But with the flavor there is only so much one could do and it comes off as an overly clean and uninteresting wheat beer with some fruit ascents. Its pretty to look at as well, a thick wall of glowing golden that one cannot see through.

Pours a cloudy, dark honey coloured orange with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet apricots, honey, wheat and citrus hop flavours. Taste is much the same as the aroma.

Nice looking beer. Aroma of peach skin and apricot. Taste is sweet and dry with peach and apricot. Semi tart with some mellow spice.
