DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 17, 2009 Draft at Bullfrog. Pours coppery with white head. Nose is apricot, peach, malt. Tastes of apricot puree, hopcitrus, and malt. THis is a very solid example of this style. MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2009 Draft. Opaque sandy color, nose of heavy apricot and only minor wheat. Minor hop and pepper jazz up the flavor, but it’s still heavy on the apricot and there is more wheat in the flavor, very, very robust wheat. Moderate bodied, slightly sticky. Too heavy in the wheat and apricot, and neither is delicate or intricately balanced. kkearn (994), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 9, 2009 Draft, at Bullfrog Brewpub on 7/5/09. Pours a clear copper color, topped with a small white head. Aroma is a bit subdued, wheat is the highlight, but there are some hints of real apricot in the background. Wheat is the dominant flavor as well, but the apricot is a little more evident than in the aroma. There are notes of grain, a little earth, and white pepper in the background. Finish was a tad astringent. Better than I expected. beastiefan2k (1590), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Jun 11, 2009 I was a bit impressed by this beer so I decided to rate it out of the sampler at the brewpub. Usually fruit wheat beers suck a lot but this was rather well done, at least the aroma, which was all natural fuzzy apricot skins. If you could smell fuzzy fruit this would be it. Doesn’t smell artificial or cheap. But with the flavor there is only so much one could do and it comes off as an overly clean and uninteresting wheat beer with some fruit ascents. Its pretty to look at as well, a thick wall of glowing golden that one cannot see through. adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 8, 2009 On draft at the brewpub. Pours a deep cloudy caramel with a medium white head. Aroma of apricots, wheat and malt. Taste of fresh apricots, malt and wheat. Beerapprentice (111), Hopatcong, New Jersey, USA Jun 7, 2009 Pours a cloudy, dark honey coloured orange with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet apricots, honey, wheat and citrus hop flavours. Taste is much the same as the aroma. yobdoog (1426), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Apr 10, 2009 Nice looking beer. Aroma of peach skin and apricot. Taste is sweet and dry with peach and apricot. Semi tart with some mellow spice. CapnJazz (35), Boalsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 28, 2009 Draft at the brewpub, clear gold with a small head. Underwhelming aroma and flavor, but pretty crisp and enjoyable. Nice apricot flavor. Very natural and fresh, subtle and good. Thin feel though. A good refreshing beer that would be best in the summer months.
