Bottle from the Otown throwdown. thanks beerlando. Brown pour with a good whitish head. Aroma is sour, tark, funky and red wine. Flavor is sour and full of acid. On the finish some fruit and honey notes are evident but the sour is quite overpowering here. Too much for me.

750 bottle shared by BrianK I think. Pours a deep amber somewhat clear with a slight ruby tinge to it and a nice fluffy head. Aroma is totally funked out with brett, but has a nice balance of tannic and vinous grapeskin and cab wine, herbal and slightly fruity. Somewhat sweet flavor still but lots has already been eaten by the brett an funky bugs, slight solvent and weird fuesls of alcoihols, herbal, spicy earth leather, more wine character, some oaky barrel funk, floral and grassy with a nice sour tartness almost tartaric grape acid throughout and in the end. Nice!

Thanks to Mike for bringing the 750! Poured deep orangey-brown with a moderate cap of beige head. The aroma was heavily characterized by sour vinegary and vinous notes with sweet caramel and honey backing it up.. quite warm. The flavor opened with honey and sour vinous notes, backed by some Sweet Tart-inspired candy notes.. reverted to alcohol-fueled sourness on the finish. Medium-bodied and sour as mentioned on the palate.. some spicy notes and boozy warmth provided fine accents.. the honey was not as prevalent as I expected.. enjoyable and engaging overall.

[Bottle] shared by tytoanderso. Wow, what an amazing beer. Pours a cloudy brownish red with some floaties and a medium sized fluffy tan head. Aroma is fantastic, with lots of oak, some lactic acid, sweat sock, vinegar, some cab sauv character, and quite a bit of brett. Flavor has a nice even sourness all the way across the palate and drops off a bit at the finish to some woody and somewhat dry flavors. Very prickly on the tongue. This was an astonishing beer and unlike anything I’ve had before.

Pours a transparent dark copper amber with a frothy, well-lacing off-white head. Complex aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt and fresh assertive vinous cherries with some leathery funk and oak. Starts with a fairly full body with good, finely-dissolved carbonation and just the right amount of sweetness to balance the tart fruity vinous notes throughout. Finishes crisp and sweettart with lingering oaky character. Very well aged and complex. No surprise this won gold at GABF. It’s very reminiscent of the Lost Abbey Veritas beers and Cuvee de Tomme.

750ml bottle. Gusher. Awesome aroma. Vinegar. Acetic acid. Wet wood. Darker malt profile. Tart cherry skin. Fairly sour. A bit of Rodenbach. Apple cider vinegar. The smallest hint of sweetness. Pours a dark, cloudy copper with a frothy brown head and evidence of lively carbonation. Flavor is full of dark, toasty malt and loads of acidity, vinegar, tartness and barrel. Quite vinous and oaky. Very well balanced. Oak, malt and yeast all present quite well. Wonderfully acidic on the finish. Mouth coating, creamy and lush carbonation with a lengthy tannic finish. This is worth the hype. Thanks Daniel!

(bottle, thanks tytoanderso!) Pours cloudy brown with a lot of particles floating around and little to no head. The aroma is just excellent, and is very complex. Scents of cherry skin, oak, wine, peppercorns, nail polish remover, and some light floral honey. Wow. The taste starts out just lightly sweet and vinous, with some cherry and sweet honey, but this soon changes to a completely bone dry finish of oak and pepper, that’s interspersed with plenty of tartness that lingers long after drinking. The mouthfeel is medium. Just an excellent sour ale that leaves me wishing it was readily available. Well done, Bullfrog.
