Commercial Description:
Lush and fruity, this "super saison" has been totally overhauled from the last two years. Previously, this beer has been lighter in color and ABV, but an increase in buckwheat honey has pushed the color into the dark amber range, providing a rich, layered complexity. The first sip leaves your mouth with a kiss of sweetness in an otherwise dry strong ale. 2006 version was Belgian Strong Ale and at 9%+ abv.

2008 version back to 7% abv, more in the traditional saison style - hazy golden in color.

750 mL bottle. Pours light gold with a huge, long-lasting, lacy white head. The aroma is light, floral honey (a nice lilac tone in there) with lots of fruity notes--tangerine, apricot, peach, pear, banana, crabapple; it’s a very impressively complex and subtle nose with a bit of earthy yeast holding it together. The flavor is tangerine and banana with a floral sweetness that definitely reminds me of a wildflower honey. A robust bready, earthy yeast flavor stays throughout the mouth. There are a few subtle "wild" spicy notes--coriander, clove, white pepper, sage, etc.-- that add a very nice dimension to the beer and help dry that honey out in the finish. A very complex and refreshing saison.

Bottle. Pours clear honey with a huge pillowy head. Unknown spices, grass, and hops shine. The very familiar Bullfrog yeast strain is apparent but not dominant. Wild bittering agents swirl around. Very interesting collage of flavors, very balanced when all is said and done. A great saison. Pretty similar to Saison Dupont, maybe better even. Chill the bottle considerably before drinking of it.

750ml bottle thanks to vwcraig. Nice cloudy orange color. It smells of honey and it tastes quite interesting. I couldn’t quite put my finger on what I was tasting but there was definitely a honey aspect and a slight bit of brett. Honestly it tasted like a saison with honey. This beer was well done but I’m afraid it is not worth $16 by any stretch of the imagination. I would love to drink this in mass quantities but its just too expensive and hard to get. In short: A straightforward wild countryside blonde Saison. Very dry and to the point. An acquired taste that I have acquired.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed fresh soon after the beer release. Bottle sent my way by JAXSON, thanks A LOT Jeremy.
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: Nose is wild wild wild. Not bretty, not barnyard, just plain wild countryside field with a little phenolic twist. You can smell the dryness of this beer. Taste like the nose is just dry wilderness. The neutral malt backbone tastes like semi-dry hay/white bread with just a little honey. Some dry banana peels. Hops have a dry flowers taste, a bit perfumy but very dry. Overall the beer is quite dry. Carbonation is very lively and the mouthfeel is “fun”. Really really good. Probably the best bottled beer I’ve had from this brewery. It’s the Bullfrog Bestthing.

Bottle. Very drinkable. Really nice Saison. Aroma has some spices and wheaty essence with a hint of fruit. Taste is nice and spicy with a little green flavors and some lemon pepper. Very good. Sampled again. Noticed a bit of sourness. Not quite puckering but but just enough to give some flavor to the bone dry finish. Even better.

750ml at CL CdC release and DMac UFC-100 release- notes combined. Pours a hazy blonde body with high carbonation and a cloudy billowing white head. Aroma is lemon zest, tart, grassy herbal hoppiness, saison Belgian yeasty phenols, spicy, salty and slight leather. Flavor has a good toasty bready malt base with a good salty phenolic, light plastic turning to lemon zest, slight tartness, more earth leather, and grassy hops and a dry tart finish. Nice.

Bottle from the Otown throwdown. beerlando is the man! This was a fun beer to smell and drink. Aroma of honey comes out as well as some tart and funky aromas...I get some vegetal notes along with a hit of green peppercorns. Flavor is smooth with some funky sweetness and a good dose of fruits. It finishes dry and is damn good.
