MrChopin (621), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 7, 2009 On tap. Hazy lemon color. Nose is great bouquet of fruit. Lots of lemon and melon. Also some wheat. Flavor is similar, very soft and balanced with more fruit and grain than brett. More our than the nose. Finish is way too short. Very nice, and unique, but not something to track. kramer (2406), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 3, 2009 On tap, at brewery. Pours a cloudy very pale yellow body with a one finger fizzy white head that faded fairly quickly. Nice brett-forward nose with some fruitiness, wheat, yeast, and a bit of sourness. The flavor is not as brett dominated as the nose, it’s more sour and tart than I would expect from a brett only beer. Quite sharp and dry with a bit too much fizzy frothy carbonation that makes it seem a bit thinner than it probably is. Overall it was decent, but not a favorite among the series for me. It actually had some parallels to a Berliner Weisse in its refreshing qualities. CharlesDarwin (1822), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA Jul 3, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Pineapple, coconut, raging Brett aroma. Tangy. Clean. Crisp. Pours a thick, opaque pineapple juice. Super lacey, fine white rim. Flavor is little weird. Thick, pasty coconut juice and a bit of soap and spice. Dry. Prickly. Lots of phenols and esters. Nice, but subtle and drinkable. Some slight astringency and oaky dryness.
