GABF 2008 at Dr. Bill’s tasting. Dark black with small brown head. Nose of cherries, oak and chocolate. Flavor is the same, with a wine note.

750 ml bottle. Pours a jet black with a medium sized foamy light brown head. Strong aroma of tart cherries, oak wood, chocolate and wine. Taste of sour cherries, chocolate, oak wood and red wine. Tarty start and finish.

750ml bottle, thanks to The Epeeist. Dark black pour with a thin tan head.. Smells like sour cherries and not much else. Nice black cherry flavor with a little sourness up front, and really smoothing out in the finish, very good beer. Thank you Chris.

750 ml bottle
Not being familiar with Bullfrog I waited until a tasting to crack open this beer. At $20 for 750ml it ranks as a pricey bottle. Even so I would love to try more of their releases as the budget allows.

Aroma / Appearance - Sticky with clear lacing the deep black body was like a sour stout. Malty blueberries, smoke, black cherries, and some density gave it a blend that was somewhere between two styles. This one was hard to pin down.

Flavor / Palate - Black cherry, licorice, dry rub, and ash melded into one of the more unusual flavor profiles I have come across. In the end I wish I had kept it for myself. It would take a few hours to knock back the bottle but it would be time well spent.

Bottle, at WeeHeavySD’s Halloween tasting, with thanks to WeeHeavySD. Pours a clear, deep, dark reddish-brown with a tan ring. Very sour aroma, of cherries and a bit of oak. Big tart cherry taste, sour pie cherries, a bit of malt, and citric acid, vinegar funk. Lingering cherry sourness. Really tasty.

Thanks Jon for opening this! Pretty cool aroma. Some imperial stout, some tart cherry, some smoke, some oak. Sounds like a poem. The tartness is very nice. Somewhat like CdT, maybe slightly bette. Very very good.
