(750ml bottle) Pours a hazy ruby-purple body with a small violet tinged head. Aroma of blueberries, mustiness, blackberries, earthiness, some vanilla, and brett. Flavor of blueberries, earthiness, vinous, and blackberries with fizzy carbonation and a dry finish.

Bottle sampled on 1/10/09: Pours a hazy ruby red with a fizzy, light pink head. Aroma of fresh tart blackberries and some leathery funk with a touch of malty sweetness. Starts with good light sweetness and fruity notes with lots of tart balance and some bretty complexity before a drier crisp finish with lingering berry flavor. A nicely styled and well-made brew.

BCTC 2007. Fantastic rich purple and reddish tinted body with a creamy, almost-pinkish head. About 30% opaque. Light tart up front, the sourness (mild to medium) and blackberry characters are easily noticed, and I want to describe the general fruit and berry flavor as having some black cherries and even raspberries in there. The blackberries seem to be more fruit and less seed and vine, as you can occasionally find in a berry beer. Sweet smelling, nearly candy-like nose at times. Medium tartness, medium dryness, overall a really good experimental beer. Bullfrog seems to do these unstyles fairly well.

RBSG ’08: Poured a hazed amber color with a large off-white head. Definite sour aroma with mild fruits giving it some balance. The flavor is tart and acidic. A real nice fruit taste. Light bodied.

Bottle. Dark maroon body with an eighth inch off white head. Tart blue berries, light oakiness, a hint of bourbon and blackberry. Light acidity and tart finish. A note of vanilla as well. Great beer.

Bottle shared by BrianK. Pours a deep violet pinkish with a nice fluffy lively head. Aroma is very powerful- intense berry, bourbon, vanilla, cream, funk, and vinous all at once. Funk is almost all out- tons of brett and lacto, with some dark cherry skin -pedio, blueberry, red wine grapes, slightly astrienget woodines, tannic, slight bourbon with vanilla and a sour almsot sharp acidic finish- awesome!
