Commercial Description:
A complex combination of fruit, peppery spice, hops and malt dominate the nose and palette of this Belgian-inspired seasonal. Wonderfully strong yet surprisingly refreshing, this is the real lawnmower beer of Belgium.

750ml bottle enjoyed at the Bullfrog Brew Pub. Poured a deeper and hazy yellow / golden color with a large sized white head. Aromas of lighter mustiness, yeast, some fruitiness, and earthy. Tastes of citrus, earthy, lighter fruitiness, some bread, and light spices. Some Brett in there that came out a little more as it warmed up, but overall on the subtle and softer side.

Bottle: Pours a transparent deep golden with a large, pillowy froth of clumpy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet pale biscuity malts and a touch of grassy hops and mild brett. Body starts with good fullness and sweet doughy malts with some lemony citrus character and clove spice before a drier, slightly earthy bitter finish. Fairly smooth and very true to style. A nice saison.

Hazy golden beer with a thick white head. Aroma is great. Very light spicy nose. Grassy with a light straw maltiness over the spice. It finishes fairly dry with a touch of light herbal spiciness. Wheaty finish.

Draught at the brewery. Clear golden yellow color. Nose of a proper saison (or even a tripel, or better yet the nose has qualities which are present in both saison and tripel): spicy, mild lemon fruit scents, light wheat scents as well. Flavor is spicy, with moderately harsh alcohol present (for 7%?), peppery on the tongue, a little oily and moderately thick on the tongue. Has some light hay and grain flavors, with some candy sugar as well, though most of this beer is noticed in the alcohol and sour notes. High octance, or at least it appears that way, and I think there’s a lot of unfermentables as well, as it was a little too sweet and a little too thick.

Bottle via PUB’N. Pours turbid dark straw orangy with 3-finger creamy white head and wonderful head shapes upon repouring. Nose is funky yeasty spicy esters, chessy feety notes, earthy florals. Tastes a bit tart, very floral, earthy, with cobwebby esters, grainy malty notes, and a dry finish. Very unique palate, very fluffy, Simcoe hoppy, floral, earthy, and yeasty spicy. This one is very good.

Bottle from BF. Pours a champagne body with 3 finger white head. Floral hints of dry earthy bitterness. Sprizzy peppercorn, some spicy yeast. Cheese, sharp provolone and more earthy lemon bitterness.
