Aroma was fruity with citrus, yeast, light caramel, and some spicyness. Flavor is similar to aroma with a light to medium body and is heavily carbonated with a funky tartness. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 4, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Crispy apple-crust and cracker aroma, heavy with a spritz of lemon zest and some air freshener. The yeast may be coming on a little heavy. Clear, tall-white-headed golden pour. Flavor is okay, but washes out and gets a little tannic and biting. This is served overly warm. I want more chewy malt and more juicy yeast character, but it gets a little minerally and metallic too soon. Lots of pilsener malt character, but not enough balance. Alcohol gets a touch bristly. Otherwise, this is a fine golden, but it might behave better at 60% the gravity. Needs softness. Pwn3d (1073), Manhattan, New York, USA
