Commercial Description:
As the story goes, I was redesigning our IPA to be bigger and better. As it came together, it started to take on a life of its own. After much deliberation and several pints of our new creation, we decided to name him after the master of the macabre, Edgar Allen Poe, as a tribute to his aptly named short story "Hop Frog". As Edgar fermented and spewed his almost abusive hop aroma throughout the pub, his legend and our thirst grew until finally one day, he was released into the world. We hope Edgar amuses you as much as he has us but stay on his good side, because, much like the story, this Hop Frog bites back!

Nice hoppy aroma some pine and citrus. pours amber with nice head. nicely balanced and not as dry as some, but not confused and cloyingly sweet. The maltiness in this one doesn’t deminish the hops. I still think I prefer the ultra dry and hoppy double ipa, but this was a good take on a maltly one, a more east coast styled version. medium bodied. grapefrult and pine in the flavor as well as some biscuit. nice ipa.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a copper in color with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruity hops, with a malty and bready base. Tastes of grapefruit, citrus, bread, earthy and moderately sweet with a nice dry finish. Nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Rating #900. Foggy orange brown with a trace of white suds. Nose is bready orange and socks. Medium body, resiny, with mild carb. Taste is orange peel and pith with some caramel and club soda. Nice drinkable Double. Who bought all the Blue Cheer?

Cask draft at brewpub. Hazy, orange-copper with a small but lasting head. Aroma is grapefruit, resin and slight molasses. Flavor is earthy resin, some citrus and molasses. Medium body is smoothish, with just enough hop roughness and drying. Pretty nicely balanced.
