Wakie (612), Centreville, Virginia, USA Sep 24, 2007 My reaction was, quite literally, "this is a bitter?" It was slightly colored water in my glass with a mild malt character. Not worth trying.
kmweaver (2273), Nicaragua Nov 23, 2007 Cask, Bullfrog Brewery. Pours a bright, clear orange-amber color; thin, off-white head. Minimal aroma, with a hint of maltiness. Soft carbonation in a medium mouthfeel: medicinal, cherry syrup and dried fruit; one-dimensional maltiness and minimal hops; blase. Light finish, with a hint of dried cherries. bigrond (886), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 11, 2007 I am not a fan of ESB’s but I have to say that this one was very good. It was smooth and flavorful. An easy drinking beer. kramer (1956), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 20, 2006 On cask at brewpub. Pretty nice looking beer, dark copper with a small creamy head that hung around for 30 minutes or more, as it was the last of the my sampler. Minimal aroma, some light maltiness and floral bitterness. Nice caramel malt flavor with a mild bitterness. Very well rounded flavor. Great mouthfeel, but cask will do that. Lighter body but intensly creamy with minimal carbonation. A great all around beer, especially on cask. A session beer that won’t tire out the palate but still has lots of flavor. egajdzis (3086), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 13, 2004 Poured a cloudy copper color with a small off white head and very light lacing on the glass. Sweet malts, and a crisp, citrus, hop aroma. Taste was bitter grapefruit, orange peel, light earthiness, and it finished sweet.
