Commercial Description:
Aged in an old Cabernet Sauvingon barrel, this wild, Imperial red ale has a strikingly complex aroma and palette filled with rich red fruits, loads of hops, and that good old sour barrel funk we all love. Dry hopped in the barrel with 3 pounds of Amarillo hops, this INTENSE elixir is the definition of extreme...and a wee bit devilish!

Bottle thanks to Jaxson. Pours out a cloudy copper/orange color with a small light off white thin head. Aroma is vinous with some tart funky earth notes, some wood and light fruit. Taste is sour and tart with some grape notes, funk and some earthy wood notes and a slight floral taste in there. Bubbly Champagne-like body. Rather solid, minus the gushing that occurred.

Aged in bottle for about 6 months
Aroma: strong oakiness, alcohol, dark fruits, honey, sour funk, some wine
Appearance: nice reddish, brownish color, off white head
Taste: Still lots of alcohol, hops have mellowed nicely but still apparent, oak comes out very strong, so do dark fruits, and the cab--mingles well with the funk--this is way better now than 6 months ago
Palate: very smooth, lingering hops, oakiness, fruitiness
Overall: excellent, if you still have one, I’d open it.

(bottle shared by MatSciGuy) Pours hazy orange with plenty of particles floating about. Aroma is strong of funk, some orange, lightly floral, oak, and slightly vinous. The taste is only lightly sour, oak, oranges, with light lemon peel, wine, and rosehips. Not as bitingly sour as other Bullfrog sours. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is spritzy. A little disappointed by this one.
