Dark amber color, small beige/tan head. Burnt rye bread aroma. Sweetish ryeish and caramelly flavor. A bit alcoholic with burned notes. Nicely balanced.

Bottle @ the RBESG08 Grand Tasting.
Pours deep brown amber with a small, frothy white head. Aroma is roasted and lots of rye bread. Okay mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, lots and lots of ryebread sweetness. Too unbalanced and sweet for me - why I don’t like most doppelbocks.

Grand Tasting, RBESG08. Hazy red-brown colour with off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with bit of toast and the slightest of chocolate. Good balance in flavour from dark malts and malt sweetness. Pretty much a solid doppelbock.

Bottled. Deep amber colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some grass and mild notes of roast. Flavour is very much the same in a nice balance. Also alcohol is showing slightly with a sweet sting in the flavour.

Shady brown color, tan head. A bit roasted, sweet, alcohol scent. Roasted malty taste. Smooth mouthfeel, low bitterness. Salty aftertaste.

RBESG08 grand tasting. Poured a hazy dark amber-red body with a medium sized off white head that went away fast. Malty nose. Malty, somewhat dull grainy, understated taste. Not much alcohol (which is a good thing I guess). Ok but boring.

RSBEG08 grand tasting. Hazy reddish brown with medium beige head. Fudgy and nutty malt aorma with mild herbal & spicy hops. Medium bodied and smooth. Dry with moderate bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle at RBESG08 Grand Tasting. Alround rating: Sweet cornish, slightly meaty, roasty caramel, just being sweet for the sake of being sweet really.
