(Bottle 50 cl) Clear deep orangey brown with a rough, beige head. Gushes when opened. Clean malt aroma with some alcohol. Quite full-bodied with a solid roasted malt base and a little burned caramel. The bitterness is rather subdued but it comes with a light underlying tartness. Could be a sign of a slight infection. 290608

RBESG2008: 50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden amber to hazzlenut brown and with a dense creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavour is smooth liqourice and hardroasted malt. Light acidic touch and a nice hoppy bitter balance. Ends with a mix of roasted malt and bitterhops.

Bottle (gift from Garching !): Ruby-amber coloured, some floaties visible, big, creamy beige head; caramel, dark-malt and a heavy touch of band-aid (caused by hops ?) in the nose; moderate to robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; quite dry toasted finish, balanced by hops and a certain acidity. So far not bad.........

Bottle, 6.8%. Fruity aroma, slightly vinous. The flavour is quite sweet, but almost balanced by roastedness. The alcohol is not so distinct in this one. Very dark brown colour, small tan head. Like a good, strong hvidtøl.

The bottle looks normal, the beer in the glass is incredible. Very zippy, very much foam. Tastes malty and fruity, very interesting. Not too strong, finish a little bit sourish, really good! Big thanks to joss for the bottle!

Bottle. Also 6.8%. Energetic hazy orange-amber with an active yet fading yellow-beige head. Wheaty and hoppy aroma, nutty notes, raisin. Taste is roast malt and grape. Bitter and roast background, dry finish. A little hoppier than most Doppels. Thanks, joss!

(bottled, 6,8 % ABV, traded with joss – thanks a lot !) Cloudy and hazy orange-amber colour with a big but diminishing frothy yellow head. Dusty and not too sweet and slightly toasty and wheaty malt aroma with herbal hops, complemented with notes of fruits (mandarins). Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied, lively carbonated, almost fizzy mouthfeel. Slightly toasty malty and distinctive fruity taste, slightly bitter and fruity finish of medium length with traces of hops. This one looks and tastes a bit Belgian. Did they change the recipe ? I cannot find any similarities to the older ratings.
